Why are watches mostly worn on the left wrist?
Generally, many people who wear watches on the left wrist also don’t know the reason behind it, because usually these kinds of thoughts don’t come to their mind they just follow the trend and that’s it. Now I’m going to share with you some practical reasons that make sense.
The majority of people are right-handed.
As you know, the majority of people are right-handed, and they perform most of their activities with the right hand, so it’s a good practice for them to wear a watch on the left wrist, which protects them from any distraction while performing their activities.
For example, if you are wearing a watch on your right wrist and meanwhile, you do your activities (like writing or hammering, etc.) with your right hand, it will become uncomfortable for you, and in the case of hammering, there is a high chance of damaging your watch. You shouldn’t take the risk of damaging, breaking or scratching your watch. The risk will be much higher in the case of expensive and sensitive watches.
Mostly the crown is found on the right side of the watch case.
Although some watch brands like Tudor have introduced the watches having the crown on the left side of the watch case for the easiness of left-handed persons, but you mostly noticed that the crown is located at the right side of the watch case.
In the second scenario, I mean when the watch has its crown on the right side of the case, you should wear a watch on your left wrist because you can easily set or change the time on the watch; otherwise, it will become a bit difficult. It would be best if you weren’t getting yourself in trouble for no reason.
Smartwatches should be worn on the left wrist.
As you know, nowadays, smartwatches are on a trend. Smartwatch manufacturing companies are introducing more and more features continuously. Smartwatches can also monitor blood pressure, stress levels, and heart rate. The manufacturers recommend that the smartwatch should be worn on the left wrist so that it monitors blood pressure or heart rate properly and accurately because the left hand is closer to the heart.

Almost 10% of people are left-handed, so if you are left-handed, you should wear your watch on your right wrist. But, you should also know that it is entirely up to you to wear the watch on your left or right wrist. If you feel comfortable wearing a watch on your right wrist as a right-handed person or vice versa, then it is alright.
Some people also say that men should wear watches on the left wrist and women on the right, but there is no logical and practical reason found behind it.
There is no rule for wearing the watch on your left or right wrist. It entirely depends on your comfort and preference. So, you should wear a watch where you feel more comfortable.
