The Heritage of TISSOT

Tissot, the renowned Swiss watch brand, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile Tissot. From its humble beginnings as a small watchmaking workshop in Le Locle, Tissot has emerged as a global icon of precision and craftsmanship.

Throughout the years, Tissot has embraced innovation, introducing groundbreaking features such as the first pocket watch with two time zones and becoming the official timekeeper for international sports events. With a commitment to excellence and a diverse range of timepieces, Tissot continues to captivate watch enthusiasts worldwide, embodying the timeless elegance of Swiss watchmaking.

Now let’s take a closer look at the TISSOT Seastar 1000 Chronograph Watch. This watch offers different dial colors like blue, green, red and etc. For this review, we have a red dial. However, all three options come equipped with the same features, and the choice of color is entirely up to personal preference.

Case Dimensions and Build Quality

The watch boasts a durable design, featuring a round stainless steel case with a diameter of 45.5mm. As such, it is ideal for those with larger wrists. Moreover, the case is 12.8mm thick, providing a well-proportioned appearance. And the combination of brushed and polished finishes creates an interesting and attractive look.

The case is further enhanced by a unidirectional rotating bezel, adding a touch of sportiness to the overall aesthetic. Moreover, the audible sound of the rotating bezel is just delightful, emphasizing the watch’s attention to detail. The signed screw-down crown is protected by a crown guard, adding an extra layer of protection to the piece.

The Striking Dial

The first thing that catches your eye is the TISSOT Seastar’s captivating red dial. It’s an immediate attention-grabber, exuding elegance and sophistication. Positioned between the four and five o’clock positions, there’s a convenient date window that keeps you informed at a glance.

Additionally, the chronograph function provides an additional layer of functionality. The subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock positions measure an elapsed in 1/10th of a second and 30 minutes respectively, while the third subdial displays the seconds of the current time.

All the hour indices and hands are coated with luminescent material for maximum legibility. With the lights off, the luminous display impresses, allowing you to read the time effortlessly. Covering the dial is scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, allowing you to enjoy your watch for years without losing its pristine look.

One thing about the dial that I don’t like is the “30 bar” writing upper the date window. In my opinion, it is not necessary and should be removed.

The Bracelet

This watch offers a choice of two bracelet options: a stainless steel bracelet with a fold-over clasp and a rubber strap with a tang buckle. Both are comfortable and durable, you can choose the one that fits your taste and style.

Precision and Accuracy

At the heart of the TISSOT Seastar 1000 Chronograph is a reliable Swiss quartz movement, offering precise timekeeping and chronograph functionality. The movement is known for its accuracy and longevity, requiring minimal maintenance.

Water Resistance

True to its name, the TISSOT Seastar 1000 Chronograph is built to withstand water-related activities. With a water resistance rating of up to 300 meters (1000 feet), it is well-equipped for swimming, snorkeling, and even recreational diving. The screw-down crown and case back ensure a watertight seal, providing peace of mind in aquatic environments.
